Notes
Written on letterhead stationery from: 120 Regent's Park Road / London NW1.

This and the preceding letter from Keynes (MA 13112.) appear to refer to an item identified as a facsimile impression printed by Emery Walker of William Hayley's poem "Little Tom the sailor", originally issued in 1800, and etched in relief with a tailpiece designed and engraved on pewter by William Blake (see PML 29974) the watermark identified in the Library's collection catalog as " POUNCY" rather than "PODNOY" as Keynes has here transcribed it.
Provenance
Bequest of Gordon N. Ray, 1987.
Summary
Thanking him for his assistance and informing him that "F.B. Adams of the Morgan Library says the mark [i.e. the watermark] PODNOY is quite clear", and that "If it isn't Blake's paper around 1800 it must be Emery Walker's around 1886, and speculating that the paper might be foreign, as Emery Walker "is sure to have experimented with a variety of papers."
