Summary
Writing to thank Barbara for offering a Ticket for the concert; stating that she will accompany her "if a grande toilette is not requisite"; noting the poor state of her wardrobe and explaining, "if one goes in bonnet and shawl and I shall not disgrace you dearest, I shall greatly enjoy the music and your company"; sharing that Alfred seems to have enjoyed himself. Letter continues on Tuesday morning: "Mamma is going to Emerson's Lecture tonight -- will she see you?"
