Summary
Writing to share that she was pleased to open the English Woman's Journal to find Barbara's article (titled "Six Weeks in la Chere Petite Bretagne," published in May 1863), and delighted to see that it was dedicated to her; sharing that this "took her by surprise and brought loving tears to my eyes"; appreciating the manner in which Barbara wrought the events into history; imagining that Barbara has just arrived at Hastings, and sending love and greetings to Bell and the General. Postscript at bottom of page stating that they have not yet received Bessie's new volume of Poems, though Alfred has seen a capital notice of them in "the Reader".
