Summary
Sharing that after her model was gone, she thought it would be best to call on Mrs. Jameson, but she did not find her at home, so she left cards; sharing that she went to the German exhibition; asking Barbara not to make any arrangement at present for her to meet Mrs. Jameson; sharing that she has been in "a miserably nervous strange excited state of mind" and feels determined to be as quiet as possible for the next two or three weeks; describing a whirl of anxiety about her work, which she could not finish because of numerous social engagements; expressing fear about her mind becoming occupied with too many thoughts; describing the feeling of grasping after everything in a feverish manner but finishing nothing; feeling that quite, laborious work is the "cure" for this; sharing that her state of illness lately feels alarming, as it seems to her "the next step to insanity"; planning to consult with Dr. Wilkinson; asking after Barbara's health and expressing a desire to see her and Bell soon; asking Barbara not to be disgusted by her state of mind.
