Summary
Remarking that Barbara is a "capital good creature" and sharing her plan to write to Mrs. Chapman and Miss Freelove; relaying that when she goes to Esher on Monday she will take Ernest (Ernest Chapman, the eight-year-old-son of John Chapman) to Mrs. Todhunters' home because there is plenty of air, food, and space; describing how she has been longing to write to Barbara; expressing sorrow about “poor Mr. John Chapman"; discussing her sadness regarding the subject of prostitution; remarking on Rossetti's design for the portfolio; stating that after she finishes her present work, she wants to create an artwork inspired by a quote in Isaiah; discussing further ideas about this project and asking Barbara not to share them with anyone except Bessie; relaying that the Rossettis liked Barbara's "Quarry by the Sea"; stating that Miss Siddal's design will be done soon; reassuring her that she will follow up with her about Ernest and his health.
