Summary
Thanking him for a letter and a check; complaining that they have had "four beastly commercial travellers all of whom almost openly express their contempt of us & the new place"; informing him that a young man named "H. Acton" (possibly the writer and Oxford aesthete Harold Acton) came there and was sorry to have missed him, noting that "He wants curious & beautiful things out of 1840 for a small show at Oxford", and asking if Balston could help him.
