Summary
Regretting that he missed seeing him at Oxford when he went there to hear Measure for measure, and noting that his friend Louis Murphy went; complaining of the weather and lack of rain and the bad effect it has on the berries, mentioning his bog garden and the success of his blue poppies; expressing sympathy for John Mavrogordato and his anxiety over (his son) Michael, exclaiming "oh damn these wars"; informing Balston that he will be giving the Taylorian Modern Language lecture next spring at Oxford.
