Summary
Writing that he met Balston's friend the artist Stanley Spencer in London at 62 Dean St "where Mrs Oldmeadow is showing some of my work.", noting that he seemed "rather patched up by the doctors", but that his enthusiasm for painting "seemed undaunted", describing him as a "great spirit & a beautiful character, as well as being such a great artist"; mentioning his work on "the decorations for St. Barnabas" and stating that he is to "go up to Oxford again this week."; asking him if he is familiar with the "Charles Mahoney Chapel at Campion Hall?", remarking that he was "glad to see that gentleman not forgotten in a recent exhibition", and observing that Balston must "own most of his masterpieces", praising the "Whitechapel Exhibition" and asking if there has ever been a book of his collected works.
