Summary
Stating that she meant to write eariler, but she has been sick, and the people she is staying with gave her an opium pill; agreeing to paint a portrait that Barbara requested; sharing in Barbara's vexation about the recent weather; at this time cholera is spreading through London; asking Barbara to pardon her writing because she is "feeling very queer" but noting that its better to "feel thus queer than to be on the way towards cholera"; remarking on her plans to paint in the woods when she is feeling better.
