Summary
Describing her happiness upon receiving Barbara's letter; remarking on how she and Janie (Jane Benham) talk fondly about her; reminiscing about when Barbara lived in Blandford Square in London with her sisters "Bell and Nanny" (Isabella Leigh Smith and Anne Leigh Smith); remarking on Barbara's ability to empathize with oppressed people; expressing confidence in the good that will come from Barbara's artwork and activism; describing her living conditions in Munich; describing her writing assignments and the winter scenery surrounding the studio; noting that Mr. Kaulbach (Wilhelm von Kaulbach) is coming back from Berlin that day, and she is looking forward to discussing art with him; passing along a message from Jane, who wants Barbara to know that love and chocolate will help "the sisters" survive the winter. Letter continues on Sunday morning; sharing that she wrote a longer account of her talk with Mr. Kaulbach in a letter to her mother.
