Summary
Acknowledging the arrival of "The little picture", expressing satisfaction with the frame, but wondering if the glass is too close to the picture; writing that she would like her to take her print, "when it returns to you" and have it framed the same way; remarking that "I think yours more beautiful even than I had remembered - but mine is more the cloistered nun" (evidently a reference to the two illustrations John Millais executed for Alfred Tennyson's "St. Agnes Eve"); stating that her print can "touch the glass and do no harm so please have it put straight into the frame" and adding "I am convinced that I took it out of a very irrelevant book - childs' verses or the like", giving a few details she remembers regarding the volume, and noting that the print must have been produced after 1864, when Millais was elected a member of the Royal Academy.
