Acquired with two editions of J'écoute chanter mon arbre by Marie de Saint-Exupéry and one copy of Les amis de biche by Madeleine de Saint-Exupéry (transferred to the Printed Books Department and cataloged as PML 198782-84).
Rear Admiral Robert M. Morris was a naval commander in the August 1944 Allied landings in Southern France, near Agay -- the home of the Saint-Exupéry family. He became friendly with the Saint-Exupérys at that time, and the two families have maintained the friendship.

Consisting of: 1) a letter from Marie de Saint-Exupéry, Cabris, France, to Admiral Robert Morris, dated 1963 December 5, regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; 2) a letter from Consuelo de Saint-Exupéry, New York, New York, to Admiral Robert Morris, postmarked 1963 January 18, describing the success of her recent exhibition and her plans for the future, with a reference to Le Petit Prince; 3) two photographs, both dated 1965 April 14, of Château de La Môle, the home of Marie de Saint-Exupéry; 4) a postcard depicting Château de La Môle; 5) a memorial program containing a photograph of Marie de Saint-Exupéry; and 6) a postcard from Gabrielle ("Didi") and Pierre d'Agay (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's sister and brother-in-law) addressed to "Dear Bobby," dated 17-1-78, sending New Year's greetings (the postcard was removed from a copy of J'écoute chanter mon arbre, PML 198782).
