Summary
Thanking her for a letter and for "a parcel of very pretty costumes which will be extremely usefull to me next month when I shall put off my mourning."; expressing her pleasure at hearing accounts of Cecilia (Gore), mentioning the new French ambassador, who is "liked very much" and who she describes as "gentlemanlike & clever"; writing that she would be happy to be "of use to your play", but that her influence "in tha way is very small", as the Duke avoids the theater for fear of colds and she has not seen anything about it in the papers.
