Declining an invitation and explaining that he is instead scheduled "to preside over the 'Dulwich' governors and doze with them all day"; promising to send her "a lot of books which you need not read", and remarking that "apropos of building churches" he recently purchased a property near London and was approached by a man named Adams, informing him of opportunities to spend his money "Heavenward", and bearing "a list of drawings, alias sturdy and impudent attacks on my purse, alias subscriptions."
