Summary: 

Expressing his hope that Lady Edward did not forget to thank Mrs. Gore for the copy of "Progress and prejudice" she sent him, writing that "the Emperor of Russia who is master of us all" has kept him so busy that it was not until he arrived at Bowood that he was able to read the book and express his personal appreciation to her for it, and remarking that "Lady Meadowes & her daughter are charming characters."
