Summary
Providing her with the names of recommended growers of roses in England and Paris, concluding "There is my small knowledge on the subject for Mrs. Gore and Paxton can tell me no more"; noting that there are also the "delicious wild roses of Scotland" which Mrs Gore is sure to remember, and praising Gore's last book, "Mrs. Armytage", which he describes as "sparkling & quick and in good taste like her conversation", and going on to write that "Having read it I sent for 'Mothers & Daughter', O Lord! If I did not know that she wrote it before we were acquainted I should kill her for making me so very dull and fond of toadies."
