Writing that he had intended to answer her first letter after he had acquired more skill in "sinistrography", but her latest letter makes it impossible for him to delay further; providing her with a list of "15 favorite drives" in the vicinity of Buxton (in the Peak District), with notes on points of interest and the names of some of his acquaintances residing there; apologizing for the fact that he too infirm to accompany her to the Peak District, which too cold and "will not suit an estropié."
