Summary
Thanking her for a letter and for offering to send her purchases from France; writing that her sister "Mrs. Howenden" has just "come over" and she cannot think of anything she wants except for a "pair of manchettes", some music, and some numbers of the Gazette musicale; complaining of the weather and asking her how long she plans to stay in London; looking forward to "spending some matinees musicales together again", and stating that her "only musical friends here, the Miss Brownings have just gone to Leamington; they are very good musicians though their voices are not large"; remarking that Blaze de Bury's friend "M. Lariss" is presumably in Poland where he has gone to "assist at his sister's nôces", adding "He flattered himself he was to meet you in Germany, but I perceive was disappointed. He did not like England at all & I do not suppose will return to it."; mentioning M. de la Mazelière, who "was carrying on a desperate flirtation with an English girl and "got into a scrape" with a Mr Stuart as a result, and remarking "He always was a shocking flirt"; asking after "M. Théodore", saying "I imagine nothing will ever put a stop to his tongue"; commenting to Blaze de Bury on "What an Amazon" she has become, "Shooting with a gun & a capital shot too!".
