Summary
Congratulating her on the success of her novel Agathonia and advising her to maintain the secrecy surrounding the books authorship, as "mystery is a great aid to a really good book"; recommending Mr. (Gustav) Pfizer as a translator for the German edition of her book; expressing his hope that her success may grant her some repose and freedom, "especially if that acquisition be not purchased, as in my case, by that aching sense of irremedial loss, for which no wealth can compensate (presumably a reference to the recent death of his mother on December 19, 1843); informing her that he has left London for the season, and offering to have a friend take a copy of her book to give to Pfizer in Stuttgart.
