Thanking her for sending her a copy of her novel Agathonia, and explaining that she had heard that Gore's identity as author of the book was "a great secret", and therefore she "dared not express my gratitude at the expense of my discretion"; going on to thank Gore for for her praise of her "first attempt" (presumably a reference to Fullerton's first novel Ellen Middleton), stating that she "has no thoughts at present of publishing anything", but thanks Gore for relating to her (the publisher) R. Bentley's "favourable disposition on the subject" of publishing her next book.
