Concerning a remark he erroneously attributed to her when he repeated it to Mrs. Wyndham, assuring her that he did not not repeat it to anyone else and that "I should have made the same remark of my self had I been in petticoats ... I know now that you did not make the remark in question, but had you it wd. have made no alteration in my feelings towads you"; going on to express his high regard for her and for her writings.
