Summary
Thanking her for remembering him and for writing to her. He was very sorry to hear about all the sadness she has endured and continues to endure and wonders how she could have continued to write through it all. Her daughter is quite ill, and he sincerely hopes she will recover. He will pray for her recovery. He has returned from Touraine (in the Loire Valley) and has taken a small house in Passy (in western Paris). His health is good, but, at age 67, he is tired and cannot go to see Gore in Brussels
