Summary
Expressing concern for Charlotte's father, Mr. Raikes, who is suffering from an attack of gout; relating that Augusta is feeling concerned for him as well, and feels more concern for men who are suffering from gout; expressing her mother's regret that Mr. Raikes is not doing as well as when she was with him, and asking that Charlotte assure him that his hospitality was experienced with much comfort and gratitude; stating that she is "jealous" of her and her party, but does not offer specificity the cause; discussing household matters, including the Lady from Tours, who her mother thinks their quiet country life might not suit; asking Charlotte to save herself from the trouble of this concern by asking that the person to present herself to Miss Barnes at No. 60 Lincolns Inn Fields; they are still in want of of a Butler; apologizing again for bothering her with this "homespun concern"; remarking on the Artificers who are still hard at work on the Lodges and Ponds nearby; noting that she expects a summons every minute for the Taplow Post. Postscript states that her mother begs her to send her acknowledgements, and Augusta alledges that she has written or plans to write to Anna; asking that Charlotte remembers them to Miss Tiler, and requesting to hear news of Mr. Raikes very soon.
