Summary
Asking Charlotte if she will be at home on Monday night, and wondering if she, Edward, and Harriet can join the dinner that Charlotte and her mother are planning to have; remarking that they will be at Bond Street on business with Edward and hope to use this as an opportunity to see Charlotte and her party; telling Charlotte that if this works for her, she does not need to write back; expressing her disappointment at not seeing Anna when she was in London, and noting that she scolded Augusta for not having told Anna the proper time that she was to be in Portland Place; remarking that Matilda's company was delightful, and that her attention and companionship are beyond her years; looking forward to seeing Anna next week; commenting on an interesting visit they had from Wilkie, who sketched for them and is an agreeable companion who is "one of those fortunate mortals who may be considered as uniting good principles and good sense with the more fascinating attribute of talent"; describing her friend Mr. Shee's visit; hoping to thank Mr. Raikes in person for the fairy book, which she has read faithfully and with amusement; noting that Caroline and Eliza are in Brighton; M.A. Coombe is still with them; sending love from her circle to Caroline's. Postscript noting that Augusta wants to know if Caroline has had dancing enough, and reminding her that they are still in want of a Butler and a Lady Maid.
