Summary
He asks what is preventing her from enjoying the beautiful sunshine of Biarritz. Fernande has written to him that Rose is not well. The rest is a lot of news and talk of Rose's social life and mediocre musicians. Lots of annoying people. Madame de Noailles (in Washington) needs a new maid because hers turned out to be a Prussian spy. Someone wants him to go to Nice with him and visit his land on their way back to Paris. Once again, he does not want his land seen.
