Summary
Expressing deep and continued concern about Charlotte's illness and hoping that she begins to recover; conveying her astonishment and delight at hearing that Charlotte could be moved to Theobald's; thinking of the grief that is being caused to Mr. Raikes' "feeling and affectionate heart" and remarking on how attending to a sick bedfellow can cause fear and anxiety; hesitating to update Charlotte Susannah on any other subject, but noting that their tour has gone well, and that the Innkeepers have regarded them as birds of good omen for the season and treated them well; remarking on the mountains, weather, and splintered rocks; recounting how they were drenched one day, but became "phenomena for future ages" by avoiding colds, which they should have caught; Augusta is interested in Welsh parsonages; noting that Edward interrupted to tell her the would be too late for the Post. Postscript reads, "We purpose being in London about Sunday or Monday next."
