Summary
Saying that he just received her letters and wrote to "T....y" so he could telegraph George Cooke about this awkward predicament so that Cooke will know how things stand and can calm the recipient and her creditors. The recipient should feel reassured that this entire misunderstanding is only a delay of a few days. The money will be arriving very soon. He hopes the recipient appreciates how difficult it has been for him to spell all of this for his Moravian male nurse, who has a nice character but is about the dumbest numbskull he has ever met. He asks the recipient to tell her backer/sponsor/silent partner [the term means all three] to remain calm. He ends by saying “What a disaster!” in Italian and adds how pleasant it is to be losing all his hair.
