Summary
Concerning an "interesting extract" sent to her by Blaze de Bury which pleased her mother and which she promises to send along to her sister-in-law (i.e. Mary Louisa Bruce, Countess of Elgin and Kincardine) as she knows how much it will "gratify" and "encourage her under the present anxious circumstances", and noting that nothing has been "settled about another visit to China"; stating that her sister and brother-in-law have left them, and that she and Mr. (Frederick) Locker hope to see Yetta (Blaze de Bury) the following evening, although neither of them are "very dancing people"; adding that influenza has struck their household, that Charlotte and Eleanor have come down with it, and, should they fail to appear at Yetta's ball, that will be the reason.
