Comprising two sections of numbered pages, followed by a section of approximately seventy blank leaves.
Collation: Smaller quarto booklet bound at front: [i], 69 pp., [1]. Remainder of manuscript as compiled by Mary Leigh: [iii], 70-81, 81-137, [2], 138-145, [7], 146-152, [2], 153-159, [10] pp. Later additional poems not in Mary Leigh's hand, collected at the end of the volume: [7] pp.
The majority of the contributions to the volume appear to come from the period 1750 to 1795, but the entries in the final section are dated 1888 and 1889.
Contains an "Index to these Poems" in Mary Leigh's hand.
Contains an inscription dated October 1, 1795 from Mary Leigh on the front pastedown.
Many of the contributions are pasted into the volume.

Provenance
Probably given by Mary Leigh to Cassandra Leigh (Mrs. Samuel Cooke) in 1795. Purchased by Paula Peyraud from Sotheby's London, "English Literature and History," 10-11 July 1986, lot 32 (Peyraud's annotated catalog slip is loosely inserted in the album). Sold at Bloomsbury New York as part of the Paula Peyraud collection, 6 May 2006, lot 346. Purchased from Stuart Bennett Rare Books and Manuscripts, March 2021.
