Summary
Writing to say that, should her uncle not arrive that day as expected, they would be happy to wait upon the Blaze de Bury's, but they are obliged to decline the visit should he arrive as her mother is "afraid of scandalizing him by by going out on a Sunday evening", and adding that they are free on Wednesday; with a postscript saying that she has received "such a kind letter" from Eugénie Lariss, adding "But the answer? Ay there's the rub!'
