Summary
Introducing his friend from the embassy, Mr. Kennedy, recommending him to her, and adding that he is sure that she "will find him ready to send those mysterious little parcels, in which I always felt that the British public had a very great interest"; complimenting an article published by Madame de Bury in the "Revue des deux mondes", and noting that "It was much admired by one, whose opinion, on such a subject, you would value in spite of your politics, rather hostile, I fear, to his."; recollecting "agreeable evenings" he passed at her "brilliant salon", writing that he would like to be in Paris "to hear all that is said about Montalembert's trial", and mentioning that he attended a Guild Hall dinner, where "Malakhoff was well received & Ld Derby made one of those gracefull, fluent, well-turned speeches, which he can always compose, without a moment's preparation".
