Discussing drawing projects he has underway and subjects he would like to work on; describing in detail a temperance meeting held by Father Theobald Mathew at Calmel Buildings, Portman Square; mentioning that Mathew administered the pledge (to abstain from intoxicating drinks) to the Honorable Stafford-Jerningham, Mr. and Mrs. Buckingham (James Silk Buckingham and Elizabeth Jennings Buckingham), and others; describing the events of the day, which included many speeches and Father Mathew administering the pledge to large groups of people in "batches".
