Doyle gives the date of writing as "Sunday Morning March 27th 1843," but Scott notes that the 27th was a Monday. See note 1 in The Illustrated Letters of Richard Doyle to His Father, p. 174.
Illustrated with sketches of the gardens of the Zoological Society, of animals, and the Doyle brothers. The fourth page contains a drawing of Jenny the orangutan at tea-time.
