Thanking her for sending her a song and remarking, "I shall like to hear you sing it so much - it is lovely - & you might be proud of having such a composition dedicated to you by such an author!"; saying that she has forwarded Madame de Bury's letter to her mother (Augusta FitzPatrick) and expressing her hopes that her mother will decide to let the apartment in Paris suggested to her by Madame de Bury, located on the Avenue Gabriel, noting that their departure has been delayed for another week "as Mama is obliged to pay a farewell visit to Sir Thomas Sebright"; asking if the opera "Faust" is still being performed and noting that she hopes to take lessons in Paris; lamenting the recent illness of Lord Lytton, remarking on his delicate constitution and sensitive nature, and hoping that he will be happy in his married life "& not do the foolish thing he contemplated before."; mentioning the death of Lord (Henry Fox) Holland and the rumor that Lady Holland intends to leave the entire estate to the church.
