Summary
Stating that he is glad to here that she is staying in the country as he thinks it will prove beneficial for her health; apologizing for putting her to the trouble of making inquiries regarding the availability of the Chanson de Jerusalem, discussing the possibility of having it copied, and mentioning the difficullty he has experienced getting books while staying in Harfleur; expressing his pleasure at hearing that she will writing for Once a Week; remarking on the "unfortunate business in China" (evidently a reference to the events of the Second Opium War) and his detestation of the Chinese.
