Summary
Responding to Madame de Bury's account of a new production of Meyerbeer's "L'Etoile du Nord", remarking on a local production of his "Huguenots", and praising the tenor (Xaver Ferenc) Steger's performance in the part of Raoul; remarking that Jenny Lind is expected to arrive in a few days to give a series of 6 concerts; writing that she was hoping to send her more of (her son) Julian's verses, but that his diplomatic responsibilities have kept him too busy to write; expressing her regret that all his efforts have not helped to avert a war and anxiety for her son and brother-in-law engaged in an expedition to the East.
