Summary
Confirming that she received her letter, and acknowledging Madame Blaze de Bury's compliment in proposing to dedicate a book to her; noting that her son Julian had published a volume of poetry and that she had intended to give Madame Blaze de Bury a copy, but was too shaken and distracted by the "cruel shock" of her uncle's death at Walmer Castle to see anyone at the time, and that her son has now brought out a second edition of his poems which she will send instead; saying that she believes her friend will like her son's poems and to tell Mr. de Bury that she "is vain enough to think it worthy of his criticism.".
