Summary
Informing her that since "Since writing the above", he has received the proof, and thanking her for her remarks on the (unidentified) piece of writing; advising her that if she wishes to become a newspaper correspondent, it is "better to begin with almost any regular engagement although the pay may not at first be good", as her published letters would be noticed and eventually secure her a better engagement; saying that he was told by the editor of the Daily News ("A vulgar looking personage") that the "writers of the higher kinds of literature" tended to not make the best (newspaper) correspondents.
