Summary
Sending her some of his own verses to read and noting that an editor had wanted to publish his poem but he had declined to have it appear in a magazine; saying that he plans to produce two volumes of poetry, after which he will confine himself to prose; writing that he has an article coming out in the Edinburgh (Review) on (Thomas) Carlyle's Frederick the Great, wherein he cuts the author up "with some severity", and calling the book an "intolerable production"; telling her that he will call on the editor of the Universal (Review) regarding her proofs, and asking if she would mind writing as a correspondent for the Daily Telegraph.
