Summary
Confirming that he has received her manuscript and that he has sent it to the editor Mr. Hutton(?) who says they will publish it in June or July, remarking that, being new, "they give themselves airs about not accepting contributions before they read them"; suggesting that, should she come to London, she contact the editor about the possibility of contributing) political articles; stating that he has not written for the periodical in question as he strongly objects to its Tory opinions; advising her that, should correspond for an English paper, "none but extreme Tory organs will stand a word being said in favor of Austria", and that "any despotism whatever in Italy is preferable to the Austrian"; expressing his own support for Italian independence, noting that he does not think her article does justice to the loyalty the French people feel towards their intellectual traditions, and promising to assist her in getting her work published.
