Summary
Thanking her for sending him an index; informing her that he has spoken to the editor of the Universal (Review) and has been told that her piece could be published in May, depending upon the length; remarking that she might wish to count upon June for the article and suggesting that she touch upon the influence of the (French) Academy and its members, its contribution to the elevated status of literature in France, and the consequences such an institution would have in England; informing her that the Statesman is unfortunately defunct, and asking her if she would like him to see about the "Illus" (i.e. The Illustrated London News?) which he describes as "now the leading Conservative paper."
