Summary
Sending her a copy of the Universal (review), confirming that the rate of pay is £8 per sheet, adding that the review was started by Allen, "the publisher of the Indian Mail", and that, as that periodical has a wide circulation, the Universal review is likely to prove a success; calling her attentiion to the first article and saying that the editor would be interested in something similar about Paris and offering to put her in communication with him or make arrangements for an article, if she will let him know what she would like to do; asking her if "anything good" has appeared in the Revue des deux Mondes on the subject of the "literary character or otherwise of Frederick the Great", and giving his opinion that there is room for a "good monthly in England", as people do not like the double columns of some of the other publications.
