Summary
Enclosing some essays for Madame (Anastasia Christine) de Circourt and asking Madame Blaze de Bury to forward them with his best wishes; noting that they include "the Cambridge essays to which you have yourself kindly contributed" and explaining that he has not sent her a copy as he is hoping to write something better to be remembered by by her; saying that he enjoyed her recent article in the Revue des deux Mondes, and remarking that he has been in a "turmoil" ever since returning to England, with law and literature pulling him "in so many ways that I have found it difficult to walk straight at all."
