Removed from a copy of Five old plays, illustrating the early progress of the English drama, edited by John Payne Collier and printed for the Roxburghe Club in 1851 (Reference Collection, call number 751.105 R7). An earlier account number, 101251, is also listed on the letter.
Signed "Powis." The attribution of this letter to Edward Herbert, 2nd Earl of Powis, is not definitive, but it is likely given the provenance of the item and Powis's association with the Roxburghe Club.
Written on the stationery of the House of Lords.
Powis lists the date of writing, but it is not clear.
