Summary
Stating that she has asked General Grey and Lord Stanhope on Madame Blaze de Buy's behalf to recommend a book covering the history of Britain from 1802 to 1806, and reporting that neither men could recommend an account they regarded as sound ("So I am afraid I cannot help you in your search - & one feels inclined to wonder how much or how little of any history, is really true!"); commenting that she "will have heard of the anxious state poor Ld. Elgin is in!" and that they will be going up to Scotland in a few days; reminding her of her offer to look for a "clever young French girl" for her.
