Asking her to go to a Mme. Goldberg on the Boulevard de la Madeleine regarding a bonnet for which she was charged duty and carriage, despite being assured that it would be delivered free of charge; urging her to visit England and writing that she has made the acquaintance of (John George) Cooke ("I like him he is so simple minded - and abundantly intelligent - I do so dote on simplicity"); informing her that (Ernst) Haberbier played there yesterday to an audience of about a dozen people who were "delighted- & showed a most understanding appreciation" and saying that he intends to stay "only a month" in London; remarking on the alleged "calumnies" leveled against the Emperor by "you Legitimists"; writing that her brother Montagu talks of going to Paris and that she will advise him to visit Madame Blaze de Bury.
