Addressing Roughsedge in his capacity as Chairman of the Court of Petty Sessions. regarding proceedings on the 21st; enclosing a note from her solicitor Mr. Taylor (no longer with the letter) which contains extracts of the legal opinions she has received on the case; writing that these indicate the case would be decided in her favor and that "you & Dr Davy exceeded your jurisdiction in decreeing and issuing an Order against me for payment of the disputed Church-rate"; offering Roughsedge the opportunity to withdraw and threatening an action otherwise.
