Referring to "family matters of a disagreeable kind" in which "some of those dearest to me" have suffered; inquiring after Ld. B[rougham], Madame Blaze de Bury's health, a manuscript she is expecting from the Quarterly Review, Henri Blaze de Bury and their new baby, and noting that she feels "pretty easy" about their daughter Yetta "as long as she is at her Convent"; asking after mutual friends and acquaintances; recounting her recent return home to England from Paris and a visit to see her son at Oxford; writing that she caught a cold while supervising, at her husband's insistence, the planting of some trees; complaining of the weather and the isolation of her situation at Weybridge.
