Summary
Addressing the letter to "Jim and Melissa" and thanking them for the wire; describing a recent occasion (possibly an exhibition opening) and saying "I brought my claque along, some thirty strong, which is about the only thing, in a festive mood, which makes these occasions bearable for me. Otherwise I might have floundered about with some cold fish in the aquarium with the water draining away"; saying that that show looked better than it did in Manchester and that he hopes they will get to see it for themselves before it closes; sending love from himself and his wife Grace (called "Ebie" here).
