Summary
Commiserating with her on the miserable spring they have had, both households apparently having been plagued with illness; writing that despite the fine May weather which has "driven away influenzas", she remains weak, although she is back in London; discussing a gown she needs altered and other aspects of her wardrobe; mentioning the marriage of a mutual acquaintance to a woman whose family had initially refused his proposal, and adding that the bride "appears to have rather a spirit", as she threatened to commit "any sort of disgrace or suicide if not allowed to go her own way"; protesting Rose Blaze de Bury's plans to not stay with them at Brougham for the summer.
